It all started 5000 years ago, when the Cassava Root was processed into flour. In 1999, we took that ancient knowledge and added a modern twist, a few simple ingredients and our first dough was born.

A trip that started a company…

It was in the 90's when Frances, the founder, went to Brazil and fell in love with a very traditional Brazilian recipe called Pão de Queijo. She came back to Vancouver with a bag full of ideas and created Quejos, which you now know as Quesava. From one small stand in Granville Island, to a bakery on Main Street, to our first retail stores, she helped pave the way for what the company is now.

Changing an established food system can be challenging, and we love a challenge!

We believe that what we eat becomes part of us - physically, emotionally and culturally. We are committed to making wholesome, ethically sourced food that is good for you, and DELICIOUS! So we said good-bye to additives, gluten, GMOs, preservatives, and complicated unpronounceable ingredients.

    All of my duties and responsibilities can be captured under the heading; "setting the table for success”… both for our people and our products, once I’m done my part the feast itself is served by our team and enjoyed by our customers, and I’m off to figure out what comes next so we can do it all over again.

    My three favourite things to do are read, play music with friends 🎶 and make and serve, or be served and eat great food!

    I ensure that our day-to-day operations run smoothly and that our team is well cared for, it is not an easy task but one I love, I am passionate about following the best business practices from quality, food and workplace safety and ensuring that we keep our focus and goals in the right place to keep the company on the right track for our planned growth, the days are long but there are no dull moments!

    My main gig is keeping things running smoothly and in tip-top shape around here. From handling financial matters to organizing the office chaos. I've got it covered!

    Favourite Quesava Product: My absolute weakness is our brownies poppers! 🍫 I've got a major sweet tooth, and those fudgy brownies are my go-to treat. You could say I'm totally obsessed with them!
